Charles Wang, Editor-in-Chief of Hall Highlights

In this interview, we learn more about Charles Wang, the editor-in-chief of Hall Highlights & HallRecord. As an experienced journalist, he wants to continue using his skills to help others in the world.

Q: What inspires you?

A: I’m inspired by experiences, without a doubt. If I see someone doing any act of good, I want to learn from it. Experiences motivate me and encourage me to be better in the future.

Q: What do you like to do outside of school?

A: Music is something you can enjoy for the rest of your life, which is great because I love to sing. Also, I’ve been playing lacrosse for nine years now and I enjoy outdoors activities like fishing as well.

Q: Do you have any prior journalism experience?

A: I’ve been writing for the Hall Highlights newspaper since freshman year and I’ve attended several journalism programs over the last few summers. Journalism is the foundation of everyday communication. Having good journalism skills is conducive to understanding the world and the events that take place, which is why I started learning about it pretty early.

Q: What do you plan on writing about this semester?

A: I definitely want to write about the Hall community; we all spend our days in the same school building, but people are not aware of so much happening right here. There’s clubs and events that they need to know about, which would help the community come together more. Also, I would like to write about current events, because they constitute a big portion of journalism.
