Charles Dowd, Editor
Charles Dowd is a very involved athlete, participating in many sports like football, lacrosse, and skiing. Having grown up in West Hartford, Charles is motivated to keep the community he grew up in informed. He wants to contribute and improve off of the athletic fields through journalism.
Q: What made you want to explore journalism through taking the class?
A: I wanted to become a better writer by practicing journalism.
Q: How do you want to help your community with your writing?
A: I want to be honest in my writing and affect the community by telling them what’s going on and sharing the news.
Q: How do you think this will help you personally?
A: Aside from improving my writing, I’d like to be more comfortable talking and interviewing people. Since knowing journalism gives me a skillset that can help me no matter what I’m doing in my life, I think it’s a good thing to learn and it will help me in the future.
