Junior football players from Hall High School celebrate their Mayors cup win versus cross town rival Conard, leaving the Titans with a win following a program down-year, and a positive send off for the seniors into their final year.
In the Mayors Cup, a simple game becomes a temporary battlefield where friendships pause and rivalry takes over. My images capture the moment my teammates and I held the trophy after defeating the cross town rival – but the story runs much deeper than just a win. These photos show how our generation competes fiercely without losing sense of connection. For four quarters, 7 innings, or 3 periods, friends become opponents, pushing each other to play harder, smarter, and with deeper meaning. Our coaches and teachers exemplify and teach us to understand intensity without hostility – and we know how to fight for the trophy and bragging rights, while still valuing the people on the other side.
